Our Story
Kasey Paige founded the Growing Gardeners Club in January 2023 to connect city children and their families to nature. What started out as a 4 families quickly grew into over 20. Today, families gather from around the neighborhood to experience the wonder of nature together. Growing Gardeners recognizes the necessity for children to connect to nature at an early age and is dedicated to providing a safe and accessible place for children to do so.
Why Growing Gardeners Club?
Studies have shown that when children connect to nature at an early age, it has a profound impact on their mental and physical well-being. Exploring the natural environment in a child's neighborhood can cultivate a life-long appreciation for nature and can rebuild communities. Exposure to a natural environment improves cognitive development, reasoning and observation skills. They become more self confident and relaxed. Learning in the outdoors encourages children to develop their own interests and understanding of the world around them.
